In medieval Europe, people did wash, bathe and clean teeth.
Peasants only bathed twice a year though. disgustingly there were no garbage collections or any form of sew-rag! body waste was just flung out onto the streets; no one cared. After the people flung there stuff out, rain would transport it to the river. the river was their main drinking source, which is disgusting! Rats and fleas were a common problem in the medieval times. Fleas started the black plague.

In medieval times, diseases thrived. living in all the muck, the average age to live up to was 30 or 40.
The most common treatment in this period was prayers and they didn't always work. Blood letting and leaches were a good treatment and was used to let out bad blood. Doctors believed it was very bad to help or operate on poor people who were unable to pay. |
